How the basic broadband services work:
This type of technology has incredible advantages over conventional Broadband types on the market today. For one, upgrading an ISPs entire structure can be done in a relatively short period of time and at a fraction of the cost that a Telco, or Cable company would have to spend for a similar upgrade in speed and QoS. (Quality of Service). And with radio technology doubling in speed every year or so, there is virtually no limit as to where this market will and can go. Another advantage with wireless technology is the ease of expanding additional footprints. A footprint being the coverage area of service. With wireless, a broadcast point can be set up in a day and able to reach several miles in any direction. Even if the population of an area is too low for conventional Broadband Providers to want to endure the expense of equipment and time to make such services available. What makes it better:
Wireless radio technology broadcasted from tower locations is NOT anything like satellite technology, which over all is considered the worst form of broadband on the market. Namely due to the lag involved in the satellite system and the distance traveled from end user, to satellite, and back to a ground access point, then routed to an Internet connection pipe and then to it's destination. Once there, it has to travel all the way back to the end user causing massive LAG times and making almost all "two way" communication impossible. Our wireless technology is much different. Most of the time the broadcast tower is within LOS, (Line Of Sight), or close to it. (Within 3 to 10 miles depending on the type of system.) This should not be confused with cell phone company Broadband services. Though, in many cases we do use their tower structures, our equipment and systems are very different and the end user will experience much better performance with our system. The reason for this is quite simple, the limitations of speed that comes with cell phone broadband services is not the same with our radio technology. It should also be noted that most cell phone companies use many limitations on their service which makes their service very difficult to become practical. Some being, limitations of 1 pc, actual log on requirements, speed restrictions and bandwidth usage limitations. For more information speak to one of our representatives or partners.
